The Source of Abundant Joy
In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us —Romans 8:37
Paul was speaking here of the things that might seem likely to separate a saint from the love of God. But the remarkable thing is that nothing can come between the love of God and a saint. The things Paul mentioned in this passage can and do disrupt the close fellowship of our soul with God and separate our natural life from Him. But none of them is able to come between the love of God and the soul of a saint on the spiritual level. The underlying foundation of the Christian faith is the undeserved, limitless miracle of the love of God that was exhibited on the Cross of Calvary; a love that is not earned and can never be. Paul said this is the reason that "in all these things we are more than conquerors." We are super-victors with a joy that comes from experiencing the very things which look as if they are going to overwhelm us.

Huge waves that would frighten an ordinary swimmer produce a tremendous thrill for the surfer who has ridden them. Let’s apply that to our own circumstances. The things we try to avoid and fight against— tribulation, suffering, and persecution— are the very things that produce abundant joy in us. "We are more than conquerors through Him" "in all these things"; not in spite of them, but in the midst of them. A saint doesn’t know the joy of the Lord in spite of tribulation, but because of it. Paul said, "I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation" (2 Corinthians 7:4 ).

The undiminished radiance, which is the result of abundant joy, is not built on anything passing, but on the love of God that nothing can change. And the experiences of life, whether they are everyday events or terrifying ones, are powerless to "separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" ( Romans 8:39 ).

PRAISE GOD our seminar went very well today!

Shona Neff and Shonda Savage Whitworth put on an AWESOME seminar today for those who have felt the nudging of God to write, speak or blog.

I took part and talked about Radio and Tv Ministry.

It was an event filled with the Holy Spirit......what Godly women Shona and Shonda are!

I also had a good time with KKIM listeners!

We give Thanks and Praise for today's event! For God's Glory Alone!

Lord Willing, we are planning to do a KKIM New Mexico News and Views event in the coming months with speakers etc.......stay tuned........loved the encouraging comments today on our news coverage.

Dewey,
Anyone who doesn't believe in miracles, stop reading right now! Nancy WALKED today, with help, yes, but was able to get out of bed, sit in a wheelchair, walk down the hall, and go to the bathroom. The squeeze from her left hand almost crushed my fingers. Her stitches were removed and her swelling is gone. Her catheter was also removed.
She is beginning to look like the old Nancy, sound like the old Nancy, and yes, act like the old Nancy. She was taken to inpatient rehab this afternoon and is raring to start the recovery process tomorrow. Her enthusiasm and determination are inspiring.
God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for this miracle - thanks to all your prayers! You made it happen.

Dear Friends,
Jesus urged his disciples not to allow themselves to be deceived by false appearances. He told us to be alert and watchful in prayer. Both globally and nationally, major things are happening that could result in a move towards tyranny and oppression. We need to be awake and discerning because the prince of this world ceaselessly is trying to advance his dark agenda to deceive and destroy human beings, made in the image of God. Theologian Walter Wink, who made an extensive study of the principalities and powers in his trilogy, came to the conclusion that the nature of the demonic is getting human life under its control. He coined the phrase “domination system” to describe how spiritual evil can work through ideological and political means to enslave people with false thinking and wrong actions that ultimately prove to be destructive to human life and wellbeing. The “isms” of the last century are proof positive that this can happen.

The current Copenhagen climate change congress which continues this week could also become a case in point. In spite of tens of thousands of scientists who question the factual basis of global warming and its harm of the planet, representatives of almost 200 nations are right now trying to agree on a global treaty to regulate greenhouse emissions. Some who know far more about this than I have warned that such a treaty, if it is agreed on, will undermine national sovereignty and take us towards world government, clothed in the altruistic guise of “saving Earth”. Protecting the environment is one thing we can all endorse, but a tyrannical concentration of power in the hands of faceless international bureaucrats that destroys fundamental human freedoms is another thing. Let’s pray for wisdom, uprightness, honesty and that no deceptive and destructive agreements will be adopted.

In the United States, the acrimonious debate over healthcare has some of the same features. We as Christians need to look behind Democrat or Republican labels and discern what is happening. Genuine reform which truly improves the delivery and quality of medical care is something everyone should endorse, but the concentration of greater power in the hands of the government along with the reckless ballooning of an already astronomical national deficit is something we should pray will not happen. Let’s pray for the US Congress and Obama administration to do what is right for the American people, not turn this country into a socialist bureaucracy that dominates our lives from cradle to the grave.

A final prayer concern is one that I have written to you about repeatedly. Please keep the ongoing conflict of Pakistan and Afghanistan with the Taliban militants in your prayers. This is a war that we and our allies cannot afford to lose, or the whole world will be deeply affected for evil, not for good. Pray for wisdom and effective strategy on the part of the Pakistani and NATO commanders and for victory after victory until the Taliban themselves lose confidence in their cause, give up their weapons and go back to their families. May many of them encounter Jesus Christ and become avid followers of Him as has happened with other jihadists elsewhere.

Thanks for your partnership in prayer this past year. It is amazing how quickly the seasons turn as we age and now it is Christmas again and the time to share this season’s greetings with you. My family and I are grateful to the Lord for another year of life with both its ups and downs. Based on many past experiences, we are convinced that He will be faithful even in those times when we doubt and fear, especially in the midst of the severe crisis of confidence in which our nation and many other nations are passing. Economically, politically, culturally and even spiritually- things seem to be in worrying decline in so many places. The Christmas story reassuringly reminds us that God is vitally interested in this planet and will not abandon us to our own wrong-headed, often doomed attempts to save ourselves. Because of Christ’s birth and presence with those who open their hearts to Him, isn’t it great that we can be hopeful no matter how bleak things look for our world? “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope…” (Romans 15:13). This is a good word for us at Christmas 2009!

Dear KKIM family,

I consider it a HUGE blessing to be able to share with you each day from the CUP!

I also consider it such a HUGE blessing when others share from their heart!

I just got done emptying my heart out in a newspaper column for the Windom Newspaper www.windomnews.com

I just pray it is good enough for Dave, Rahn and Folks. I consider it such a blessing to be able to share in their Pastor's column. My first venture into newspaper! Dave and Rahn have been so patient with me.... as being an old radio guy.....sometimes I don't know when to stop talking or writing!

It just hit me.....I don't know if Dave or Rahn will remember this..but my Dad used to write Sports for the Citizen back in the 60's. So thank you Dave and Rahn for this Christmas present.the opportunity to give back to my hometown and follow in the footsteps of my Dad and Mom.

I continue to be blown away by the blessing of the LORD!!!

It's like I see EXPLOSIONS OF BLESSINGS happening all over! WOW!

I am just trying not do anything stupid......came close yesterday!

Here is another blessing.from Karen Rowe......as she goes about her days.....she shares this with us......How many of you can relate to Karen and what she is going through?

Dewey, If you sense that this will encourage someone, please post this. God is so good to us and quite frankly, this world is hard to live in sometimes. We need to know that we are not alone in our struggles! So I share in mine. I just thank God that I know HIM well enough to patiently endure and that I trust HIM enough to obey! CUZ I know how beautiful life can be when we just trust and obey! So I share hoping to encourage someone to read the Bible, talk to God and allow Jesus to shine God's light on the very things that we can't see that hinder our ability to live the VERY life that Jesus died to give us!

Last night I told my husband that God never tires of fixing us, BUT I DO. So once again, God is teaching me about me and what I need to improve on IN me...This time I feel like a tube of toothpaste being squeezed almost empty...to me not sure that last little bit in the tube is worth bothering, BUT apparently God wants a pure heart in all areas...

I share because it's tough and we all go through these things. When we feel like we are spiritually/emotionally/physically struggling...remember Jesus..."remain in me and I will remain in you" by remaining in LOVE we are remaining in Jesus..."Patient, Kind, NOT envy or boast, or proud or rude or self-seeking...it is not easily angered...it keeps no record of wrongs. ...does not delight in evil but REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH. It always protects, trusts hopes and always perseveres. And when we remain in ALL OF these qualifications...LOVE never fails!

Perhaps someone is feeling distance to God...kind of like I experienced yesterday??? God hadn't gone anywhere...I had something that I was allowing to grow in my heart that was creating distance between me and God. Last night, I ran through the qualifications that meet God's standard of love and with one particular person, I fell short on a few of them. So now I need to deal with allowing Jesus to perfect my heart because alone we are powerless against things that come against us...BUT with Christ, I can remember that I CAN do all things through Christ who gives me strength and wisdom! I can be better! I can change!

Have a blessed day...may it be good and if not; may we experience the day with God's grace!

PS...I feel God's Spirit grow in me just by admitting this defect in my heart. When we admit that we have an issue, that admission opens the door for God.
When we try to run from or hide an issue, that opens the door for Satan! Satan will encourage the very thing that keeps us down...with half truths...we may be justified, but not the judge;
Satan may even convince us that we have truly forgiven, but in looking deep down...Are we keeping a record of wrongs toward another? We may think that we are not proud, but is pride standing in the way of opening our heart...?

God is not only great...God is good!

We have been praying for Gwen and her body is now healed but Satan is attacking her. Our Lord has healed her body........now let us pray..... like we are praying for Pastor Moss, that Satan be gone from their bodies. The closer we get to our Lord Jesus Christ the more Satan will attack us.

Also continue to pray for Lydia as she goes through the courts to protect herself and her children.

Please pray for our Dear Brother Pastor Larry Moss. Many of you who read the CUP know of Pastor Moss. He was Pastor of Heights Cumberland for years and years and had a Radio Ministry on KKIM and retired in July. Since Larry retried he has been in extreme pain. Leg and back pain. It is very hard for him to get around, if at all. In talking to Larry he says it is a satanic attack, yes it is.........please pray. Larry ask's for your prayers.

Larry has been a Dear Brother of mine........he has helped me grow in Christ......his son Greg was a mentor of our son, Lars. Greg passed away a few years ago. Larry has helped so many folks over the years come to Christ, and grow in Christ. Dear Brothers and Sister's in Christ let us pray for Larry.

Lord, We come to you this day for our Brother Larry's healing. You know Larry's heart and soul better than us, Oh Lord, please heal him and give him comfort. We pray that Satan's attack on Larry cease at this moment. In the name of Jesus, AMEN

Pray for Pastor Mark Tross KKIM/DDC

Please come together and pray for Pastor Mark Tross and his family. I just got the call about an hour ago from Mark that his Dad, Fred age 79 passed away today. Fred had been bed ridden for 2 years as he wanted to go home to be with his Lord and wife. Mark and family will be gathering in New Jersey for the funeral.

Mark is one of my main mentor's. Sharon and I love him and his wife Juliet so much and are thankful for everything they do for KKIM!

Please be in prayer for the Mark's Church this weekend as they bring in Larry Huggins. Mark will not be there but Pastor Shaun has things under control, or I should say the Lord does.

A prayer request: Craig had a biopsy of his prostate and we are anxiously awaiting the results. He has been fighting this problem he has for over a year and the PSA numbers have been rising so the urologist decided we'd better find out why. The waiting is not easy. We should find out the results today or tomorrow. Anita

URGENT PRAYER NEEDED KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,
We are continuing to follow the story of the missing Pilot of the New Mexico State Police Helicopter, Sgt. Andy Tingwall and the Hiker that had been rescued, Negumi Yamamoto a University of New Mexico graduate student.
Let us be in prayer for them and also Officer Wesley Cox who was found yesterday and is in the Hospital with serious injuries.. Here is an update from Frank..........

A state police officer who told rescuers he was the only survivor of a high-altitude helicopter crash was in serious condition Wednesday at a Santa Fe hospital, a state police spokesman said.

Although his right leg was crushed and his back injured in the crash, Officer Wesley Cox, 29, was able to hike out less than a mile until he found a ground team of search and rescuers, according to New Mexico Department of Public Safety spokesman Peter Olson and State Police Chief Faron Segotta. Cox, a spotter on the helicopter, also was suffering from hypothermia when he was found and hoisted aboard a National Guard Black Hawk helicopter, Segotta said.

Cox told rescuers that the pilot of the state police helicopter, Sgt. Andy Tingwall, 36, and a lost hiker they'd just picked up Tuesday night, Neguchi Yamamoto, did not survive the crash.

Rescuers reported Wednesday evening that they had found the fuselage and other debris from the helicopter, but there was still no sign of the two missing people. State police spokesman Eric Garcia said debris from the helicopter is scattered down the mountainside.

The crash happened northeast of Santa Fe Baldy, at about 12,000 feet, officials said. A crew of 18 people hiked through the night in an effort to reach the lower end of the debris field.
Tingwall was the chief pilot for the state police's aircraft division and had more than 1,300 flight hours to his credit. Tingwall also frequently served as a state police media spokesman.

The helicopter is specially equipped for high-altitude search and rescue missions, including landing and taking off at up to 15,000 feet and flying at up to 20,000 feet.

Police want to make it clear they are on a rescue mission.

Sgt. Tingwall is a true hero along with Officer Cox. Sgt. Tingwall was just named Officer of the year.

Please keep them all in your prayers.

Oh Lord, We come to you today and pray that the searchers will find Sgt. Tingwall and Negumi Yamamoto. We pray for the recovery of Officer Cox. We pray for the families and friends to give them Your strength and peace. We thank You Lord for men like Sgt. Tingwell and Officer Cox who put their lives on the line for Your children. Be with the rescue workers as they search for their friend. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

Just one more note.........I just had a God moment........One of those moments in life that we know for sure was an appointment made by God. I just stopped at Walgreens and as I walked to the front door I saw an neatly dressed elderly man sitting in a car with a wheelchair attached to the back........He had is window down and I went over to say Hi.........He said How are you?.....and I said what is your name........he said Skip........and I said can I pray with you?...........he said yes........and I prayed and Thanked God that I had met Skip and that he wished me a good day.I thanked God for Skip's goodness.........Skip said to me........Would you do me a favor?.........I said Yes Sir!........Skip said to me, Would you please enjoy this day?.........I said yes, thank you Skip, you too!.........I went into the store and got Skip a bottle of water so he could stay cool as he waited for his companion to finish shopping. An Elderly man sitting in his car and just wanting to spread God's cheerfulness into the world............

Another reminder to all of us to take notice of the people around us.........Skip just made my day and I am going to dedicate tonight's softball game to Skip!

The body of a little boy.......yes a little boy between the ages of 3 to 5 was found buried at a Albuquerque playground yesterday. Police say he had been buried for less than 48 hours.

Hi Friends,

Today is National Day of Prayer, I would like to ask that you all say a prayer for my son Zach! Zach suffered a stroke on April the 20th and is still at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Presently Zach is experiencing severe headaches and constant dizziness, which makes it very hard for him to walk, he also had to have a feeding tube put in due to other issues he is dealing with. I picked all of you because you are friends that I value and have enjoyed having in my life!

I will be with Zach for Mother's Day because one of my wonderful friends surprised me with a plane ticket to fly out there this weekend...THANK YOU :-)

One last thing....I prayed for each of you today and thanked God that you all have been a part of my life :))))))))

URGENT PRAYER NEEDED KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

Let us please hold up Diana Vendresca and her son Zach Marchiodo. Diane is in Albuquerque and unable to be with her son Zach at a time when he is in the hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Zach is dizzy all the time with a very bad headache. Doctor's at this time cannot find the cause. Let us pray for the cause to be found and healing to begin and comfort for Diana. Diana had to return to work in Albuquerque.

I am contacting one of our friends here at KKIIM and the Cup to go visit Zach. Please pray.

Let is begin praying.

Also let us pray for the family in Florida, where the father killed his wife and two children, and then himself. The oldest, 13 only escaped because his Dad tripped on a bike and he was able to get away. There are a record amount of murder-suicides taking place in this country.

Please also pray for our friend whose grand-daughter may have been sexually abused by her Dad.

My head is spinning with family turning against family.

As my Grandma used to say...news like this will send one to an early grave. It just breaks my heart.

Let us Prayer Warriors go to work and talk to the only answer, our Almighty God!

Hebrews 4:16 says,

"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

Even hearts numb with pain or sorrow can go to God with confidence, assured of His grace and readiness to receive us just as we are, His dearly loved children.

We can let Jesus and the Holy Spirit intercede for us. When children can't express themselves because they are tired, ill, or overwhelmed, a loving parent doesn't take offense and turn away. The Mom or Dad stays near, anticipating and caring for any need until full communication is restored. Not only does the Spirit do our "praying in and for us," but Jesus "is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us" Ro. 8:34. Prayer continues, even when we can't.

What is on my heart is that we all need to be good witnesses for the Lord and help bring others to Christ. We need to encourage each other...we need to care for each other and pray for each other.

YOU.......YES.............YOU!!!....are making a difference in lives...........like Nicole...........read this.........and thanks to you all for your love and prayers for each other........as we all grow together in the Lord. We are seeing many examples right here at the Cup and KKIM of the Lord working in the lives of many people and brining them closer to God. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

All cases are recovered or recovering. No new probable cases as of now.

Number of cumulative samples the Scientific Laboratory has received: 180

Number of cumulative samples tested so far: 113

New Mexico update: We are still waiting to hear from the CDC about our first two probable cases that we sent to CDC on Wednesday. We have not identified any relevant exposure to New Mexico among the nine probable cases. Epidemiology and Response Division’s investigation is ongoing for all cases. The investigation includes determining how patients may have gotten sick and who may have been exposed to H1N1. Looking at probable cases’ school attendance is a part of that. We do not have any information yet to conclude that any schools should be closed. If school closures are necessary, we would work with the Public Education Department and local school district to make that decision.

We have 140,000 treatment courses of anti-virals in New Mexico so far. We expect 210,000 additional anti-virals from the CDC. Our priority for giving anti-virals is to sick patients who need treatment. Many people who get sick will not need anti-virals.

National information about H1N1: Disease caused by the H1N1 flu virus in the United States appears to be mild so far. There are 160 confirmed cases in 21 states in the U.S. , one person has died: a toddler from Mexico visiting Texas .

Recommendations: The best thing you can do is wash your hands frequently, cover your cough with a tissue or your arm and stay home when you are sick. If sick with fever and cough or sore throat, call doctor for advice.

Dear Dewey,
I write this with a heavy heart. At this time my courage and my strength is at an all time low. During the Easter weekend my bad pain in my neck returned. After a few days I knew it was here to stay, the shots worked so well I had forgotten the agony. Yesterday I had more shots, after waiting all this time just knowing I'd be fine afterwards. Well, it is so bad, I can barely sit or stand still. My agony is back full force. As tears ran down my face reading your Cup, and having every fill my heart with joy. I had to write you.
Dewey, please pray that our Savior will have Mercy on me. So often I think I can't take anymore pain. And then your Cup comes and I see I can handle anything with the Lord in my heart. And His Children Praying For Me! I just have to continue in His Mercy and cry for His strength, I have none left of my own. sam

Pastor Leonard here at the CUP responds to the need.............

Dear Sam,

Dewey sent me the email about your pain and your emptiness. We are praying for you along with hundreds of others. We may not be able to take away the pain but we know the one who is the Great Physician. It is my prayer that your eyes will be opened much like the servant of Elisha in II Kings 6:15 and 16. The servant thought that he and Elisha were all alone. But, Elisha prayed to God to open the servant's eyes. When the servant opened his eyes he saw that the hills were filled with soldiers and chariots of fire. So I too pray that your eyes will be opened to the hundreds who are praying for you, your pain, your strength and your courage.

God's Word offers to us much encouragement. God has promised never to leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:9, "this is my command; be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." And in Matthew 28:20, Jesus says, "be sure of this; I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Plus, Romans 8:28 and 29, "and we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them."

I can't imagine the pain you are suffering but know this fact that God is with you and will give you the courage and strength you need to battle each day and each hour. You are not alone.

Paul writes to the church at Corinth these words in II Corinthians 1:3-7, "all praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then we can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us."

Sam, we may not understand your pain and suffering but we are boldly storming God's throne on your behalf to pray to the Great Physician that He would provide comfort, healing and strength for you and to you. We are praying for you.

Yet another one, of which there are many in God's Word, Nahum 1:7, "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him."

Let us pray...Dear Father in Heaven. I come to you as you have commanded us to, through the name of your son, Jesus Christ. I ask, in His name, that you bring healing, comfort, strength and freedom from pain to Sam. Father God, you know her suffering and the terrible pain she has. So I come before you pleading that you bring healing to her body, freedom from this terrible pain. Nevertheless, Father, I pray your will be done and not ours. Only You oh Father know the reason and purpose so we pray for patience as we wait on you to comfort and heal. I know that You our Father have promised never to leave us nor forsake us. So even in the midst of our pain and suffering, remind us of your presence, strength and peace. I lift up this supplication on behalf of our friend Sam. In the name that is above all names, the Lord of Lords and the Kings of kings, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

I was in Bible's Plus yesterday, shopping with my friend Jonathan Olivas who plays the shofar on KKIM. I asked for Khristi as she always gives me such AWESOME service. I was told that she got a call from the school one day this week at work that her little girls had not been picked up from school so she left work to pick them up and then went home with the girls and she found her hubby, Mark dead on the treadmill. He had a heart attack during his exercise. Let us pray for Khristi and her two little girls.

I got a call from KKIM listener, Ann Montoya, who had a question for me and we got to talking about prayer needs and Khristi's name came up and she had also just been into Bible Plus. Ann joined us on air for prayer during New Mexico News and Views. We are here for you....too pray with you and for you.

We got a call last night from Sharon's Mom that Sharon's dad, Roger, is not doing well. Roger is in a care facility for dementia. Please keep Roger and the family in your prayers.

Now here is a PRAISE note from SE Coleman, who is a missionary who just returned from Vietnam and was on my show this past week........I sent her to the most an Angel of God, Ricky at Car Pro's Auto Sales. SE was getting a story from another outfit that it was going to cost her hundreds of dollars to fix her old truck......I said, let me call Ricky and see what he thinks........

Wanted to pass on the gratitude and thank you's from Gail. She called me last night to get my Mom and Sister's addresses. She said there were so many people that she didn't even know who sent their prayers and thoughts to her through a card etc. What she didn't know, was about you and your following. The thousands of people throughout the world who read and pray. This is a THANK YOU from Gail as well as myself. She starts chemo next week and bought two brand new wigs. She is excited to be able to wear these different wigs, after losing her hair.She has such Faith. Thank you Jesus.

He was admitted last Monday evening after getting results from a liver biop to Dallas Baylor. He was going into liver rejection. It has been four years since his transplant and has done so well with it. They say when it has been this long it is very difficult to treat. He was on steroids for five or six days. They were being rejected. They did another biop this a.m. or putting in a pick this afternoon. We will get the results of the biop mid-afternoon.

Some liver counts have dropped some and others have increased. It looks now like they will be putting him on another medication for the rejection. It has some pretty bad side effects, but then he has had some of the same in the beginning four years ago. As Mother always said "we Hamil women are survivors"-she always said also "she was a tough old bird"-well, Shane is, too.

I know he is in God's wonderful loving hands-doesn't keep his Mama from worrying and hurting, too. Your Mom always said she would give things to the Lord to take care of, then take them back and worry some more-I do, too, but is that not normal?

He has wonderful doctors and good care at Dallas Baylor.

I just talked to my Softball Coach Phil Arndt of Heights Christian Church and he and his lovely wife are at the Hospital right now.

Beautiful two week old, Liberty Grace, WOW love that name! Liberty Grace has developed a respiratory infection.

As you know this is a very stressful situation.

Please keep Liberty Grace in your prayers.

John's message in the Bible is so critical........You can talk to God because God listens. Your voice matters in heaven! YES YOURS! HE takes you very seriously. When you enter HIS presence, the attendants turn to you to hear your voice.

What a mess. I'm not sure what they want to do, probably pray, I hope, about the situation. Their divorce has caused a big split in the church, some not wanting to "take sides", others doing that and still others who "want to remain neutral". I know there are 2 sides to every story, and I know God works miracles, but this situation is really getting us down, I am sick over this. Thanks for your prayers.

Domestic Partnership Bill

The bill is a way to force courts to legalize same-sex marriage. The proponents of the Domestic Partnership Bill say that will not happen. However, Supreme Courts in California and Connecticut ruled that banning gay marriage was unconstitutional based upon those states having put into law a Domestic Partnership Bill.

However, in November, 2008, the state of California by a state wide referendum passed Proposition 8 which not only bans same-sex marriage but nullified legal same-sex marriages that took place since May, 2008 which the State Supreme Court ruled that laws excluding same-sex marriages were unconstitutional. So, since the passing of Proposition 8 in California the State Attorney General is encouraging the Supreme Court to overturn the will of the people in Proposition 8.

The State of New Mexico has no such Referendum procedure. Once it is passed by the Senators, House of Representatives and signed by the Governor, it is law without redress by the populace.

Even though some states have domestic partnership or civil union laws, two states (Connecticut and Massachusetts) allow same-sex marriage.

However, more states have laws or constitutional provisions prohibiting same-sex marriage. In fact, according to National Conference of State Legislatures, New Mexico joins just 4 other states who do not have laws or constitutions that define marriage as between 1 man and 1 woman. In fact, since California passed Proposition 8, the marriage licenses have had to be changed from Client A and Client B, to Man and Woman.

According to an article in the Sante Fe New Mexican, Bill Sharer, R- Farmington, tried to craft a compromise in a recent legislative session that would have given couples who live together -- including homosexual couples -- virtually all the rights that married couples have, including hospital visits, inheritance rights and other legal and financial rights. But his legislation would have defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. Gay-rights advocates opposed that, which Sharer said convinced him they want a domestic-partnership bill to be an opening to force courts to legalize gay marriage.

Sharer said his opposition to the domestic-partnership bill is based on the fact that through most of recorded history "from the days of Confucius and Aristotle," he said -- marriage has been considered a union of one man and one woman. "It's not just a Christian thing," he said. "It predates Christianity.”
In New Mexico, a domestic partnership measure narrowly passed the House last year but failed in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
This year, supporters adopted a new strategy by trying initially to get the bill through the Senate. They hope that the election of several new Democratic senators will improve the proposal's chances for approval. The House of Representatives has already shown that if the Senate passes SB 12, they have the votes to pass the bill in the House then it’s on to Governor Richardson who is on the record as stating he will sign the bill into law. And, remember, New Mexico has no referendum procedure for the people of New Mexico (whose majority say they are NOT in favor of the bill) to voice their collective opinion on a Domestic Partnership law.
Senate Bill, SB 12, will be voted on by the entire Senate of New Mexico on Thursday, February 26th.

Don't worry I washed the cups!

Daughter Gretchen turned 22 yesterday and Pop's was sick! SORRY! It was such a happy day when she was born!!!! WOW! It was a great year....Gretchen's birth, starting to work for my mentor in Christian radio, Ed Moore, and the Twins winning the World Series!!! HOLY COW!!! Happy Birthday PIE!!!! She is 22, can I still call her that? PRAISE GOD for Gretchen and for all she does for others!

I have been down in bed for 2 days.......No Fun! Sharon thought at first it was the flu, but I have been in such good health and was doing so well Saturday and worked out with the Dogs and everything.........went to lunch..........my hamburger was sent back to the kitchen, Got sick later. I am still wishy, washy this morning, but enough of being in bed! Wow! How lousy has TV become........no wonder we are in the shape we are in! I scanned that dial and I could not believe the awful stuff.....even what is to be kid's channel. TV Land, where I watch Andy Griffith, Gunsmoke and Bonanza now has bad stuff. What you watch, you become, what you read you become, who you hang around with you become! So I dug out some DVD's like "Facing the Giants" and watched them.

In scanning the TV channels.......it seems to me many have harden their hearts to the Lord. I saw the news clips on TV about the Oscars...I had never heard of the Movies, such weird titles!

I have been saying for months that hearts need to be changed before things change and the United States of America goes back to God. We can yell all we want but we have to work at changing hearts. We need to pray for those with harden hearts and be good witnesses. We have to always tell the truth, even if it hurts. That is not being mean, many think that speaking the truth is mean.........no the TRUTH must be told. Many believers seem afraid to tell the truth or be told the truth! What do I mean by that? Well, Many believers do not want to speak up about the truth because they are afraid that they will hurt someone or be labeled a crazy Christian or something, and some believers do not want to believe the Bible wholeheartedly because it would change their own belief system.

For the longest time I did not want to hear about my weaknesses......well.let's just say I am not in a hurry now to hear them.Ha!
But through my relationship with Jesus Christ I can face up to them better. My dad used to say, "Clean up your own back yard first!" That is what many Christians need to do before they attempt to clean the other's house!

Dad also used to say, "Sometimes the TRUTH hurts!" Yes it does, doesn't it! But we must face the truth from our friends, foes, most importantly from God and HIS word! We also cannot be afraid to tell the TRUTH or skip around the TRUTH like same sex marriage! Let me end this sermon with this letter from Jonathan....it fit's in nicely........

California pro-life counselor and pastor Walter Hoye has received a jail term for peaceful work outside an abortion clinic to try to save the lives of unborn babies.

Hoye was found guilty of violating a local ordinance that dictates that he must stay at least eight feet away from anyone entering the clinic. He was found guilty, even though video demonstrated that he did not violate the law. Dana Cody of Life Legal Defense Foundation says Hoye was ordered to jail for 30 days, fined $1,130, and placed on probation for three years.

"That meant Walter had to accept the terms of the probation, which was stay away from the clinic -- and Walter refused to accept that term because he doesn't think his free-speech rights should be impinged for three years," the attorney explains.

Cody tells OneNewsNow that several witnesses testified to the pastor's character, and the judge read through a stack of letters praising Hoye. "The judge said publicly 'I think that Walter is a decent man, and based on these letters I have a very high opinion of him. But this law exists and it must be followed.'"

Hoye next appears before the judge in March. Cody is challenging the ordinance in federal court.

I wanted to give you an update on Gail. She had gone back into the hospital 2 weeks ago and was there being treated for an infection in her intestines. She is out and PRAISE THE LORD is like herself again.
She is getting stronger to get ready for a long session of Chemo. I took her some pasta the other day and she ate it in front me and I told her she was a good girl.
This is a huge THANK YOU to all who have prayed for her and continue to do so. I am so thankful to you and your family's. Thanks to Sam, I have something to look forward to on a daily basis. Through you and your Daily Cup.

Now let me share this with you on prayer and our walk with Jesus Christ.........

True prayer is making known our requests to God, according to HIS will, with faith in HIS love, and the realization of our own dependency upon HIM in our hearts. (Phil. 4:6; Jn 5:14; 1 K. 8:47,52) That is for you SAM! (and all of you)as I know you love to look up the scriptures!

God first works true prayer in humble hearts by pouring upon them the "Spirit of grace and supplication" (Zech. 12:10). The Holy Spirit then reveals what is to be prayed for and leads in the manner of prayer. All true prayer is by the teaching of the Spirit of God. (Ro. 8:26).

Okay folks listen up to this:

When I speak of "making our requests known to God," I do not mean we vainly inform God, or try to move HIM according to our own ideas. Rather, we move ourselves to God and make our hearts believe that God will perform that which HE has revealed, promised, and purposed, either from Scripture or through HIS communion with us. David found in his heart to pray to establish the temple because God had revealed to David that (his son) would build the Lord's house. (2 Sam. 7:12-13)

To wrap this up.........

Just as we learn the manners of our friends and increase in affection toward them by conversing with them, so by conversing with God do we learn the manners of heaven and feel an increase of love, both in us toward God, and of HIS love toward us. In this respect, prayer has a double good in it.

Okay....now I think Shelly from Indiana had good timing in sending this FUNNY BONE IN!!! I was in Indiana, as many of you know in Jan. I do not think I could ever move back there..it was 45 BELOW wind chill and snow over the top of cars.....AND IT IS STILL SNOWING THERE!!!! It is snowing so much that I have not heard from Bob Dawson since it started!

One winter's morning a husband and wife in northern Indiana were listening to the radio during breakfast.

They heard the announcer Say, 'We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the Snowplows can get through.' So the good wife went out and moved her car.

A week later while they are eating breakfast again, the radio announcer said, 'We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street, so the snowplows can get through.' The good wife went out and moved her car again.

The next week they are again having breakfast, when the radio announcer says, 'We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You
must park....' Then the electric power went out.

So how was Nashville? Did you and Larry have a good time staying out late and eating ribs? Did you learn anything of interest? Bring back any new programs for KKIM? I've always wanted to go to the NRB at least once just to hear all the great speakers and see what it's all about. I'm glad you were able to get away from KKIM so you could go. I'm looking forward to hearing about it someday when you have time.

I ran into Frank the other day at a breakfast put on by John Moore. I can't tell you how happy I am that he is still with the station. I hope with everything going on that you can continue to keep him, he is such an asset to KKIM's ministry. By the way, are you still speaking these days about KKIM? It's been a while since I saw you on TV or in a church talking about Christian radio. Anything on the docket for the near future?

Hopefully you're not having to work overtime too much. KKIM is a great ministry but a poor master. And you know how I feel about all those extra hours you have to put in. Some overtime is to be expected but not consistent, habitual over and beyond the call of duty, overtime. Even General Managers of Radio Stations need a life too! (Just ask Sharon if you don't believe me!)

Anyway I just wanted to touch bases and say hi. I hope you are catching up with your work load from your absence to go to the NRB and that things are going well. I'll catch up with you later. Ciao for now!

Deliver Us from the Evil One

The next-to-last phrase in the Lord’s prayer is a petition for protection from Satan: “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

Is such a prayer necessary? Would God ever lead us into temptation? James 1:13 says, “When people are tempted they should not say, ‘God is tempting me.’ Evil cannot tempt God, and God himself does not tempt anyone.” If God does not tempt us, then why pray, “Lead us not into temptation”? These words trouble the most sophisticated theologian.

But they don’t trouble a child. And this is a prayer for the child-like heart. This is a prayer for those who look upon God as their Abba. This is a prayer for those who have already talked to their Father about provision for today (“Give us our daily bread.”) and pardon for yesterday (“Forgive us our debts.”). Now the child needs assurance about protection for tomorrow.

The phrase is best understood with a simple illustration. Imagine a father and son walking down an icy street. The father cautions the boy to be careful, but the boy is too excited to slow down. He hits the first patch of ice. Up go the feet and down plops the bottom. Dad comes along and helps him to his feet. The boy apologizes for disregarding the warning and then, tightly holding his father’s big hand, he asks, “Keep me from the slippery spots. Don’t let me fall again.”

The Father is so willing to comply. “The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand” (Ps. 37:23–24 TLB). Such is the heart of this petition. It’s a tender request of a child to a father. The last few slips have taught us—the walk is too treacherous to make alone. So we place our small hand in his large one and say, “Please, Abba, keep me from evil.”

That's more than a FULL CUP to share with you all today!

I also pray that New Mexico will have leaders that will pass a law that states if you are stopped one time for DWI your privilege of driving and car will be taken away for at least 1 year.......one strike and you are out! Enough of the talk how New Mexico has gotten tougher when we still have many being stopped for the 19th TIME!!! SAD, BUT TRUE!!! First time at least 1 year in jail. It is time for TRUE LEADERS!! TOUGH LEADERS!!! Stop the NOTHING NOISE!!! I just came from one of my accounts where I do business with these wonderful people who were the first to help me in my business. Bob Wash is a picture framer at the store and loved by everyone he comes in contact with. Tammy (the owner) and Ari, told me Bob has pancreatic cancer and is in very bad shape.
No treatment for him as he also has an aneurysm right next to the tumor on his pancreas which is right next to his heart. He has lost 30 lbs and is not in good shape at all. I am so overwhelmed with grief for these wonderful people. I will leave it to our Dear Lord's hand's and pray for peace and comfort.
Thank you Dewey. Also Ari's grandmother has congestive heart failure at 89 and in severe pain. These wonderful people need our Lord's comfort and prayers.

Those who pray keep alive the watch fires of faith. For the most part we don’t even know their names. Such is the case of someone who prayed on a day long ago. His name is not important. He is important not because of who he was, but because of what he did.
He went to Jesus on behalf of a friend. His friend was sick, and Jesus could help, and someone needed to go to Jesus, so someone went. Others cared for the sick man in other ways. Some brought food; others provided treatment; still others comforted the family. Each role was crucial. Each person was helpful, but no one was more vital than the one who went to Jesus.
John writes: “So Mary and Martha sent someone to tell Jesus, ‘Lord, the one you love is sick’” (John 11:3, emphasis mine).
Someone carried the request. Someone walked the trail. Someone went to Jesus on behalf of Lazarus. And because someone went, Jesus responded.
In the economy of heaven, the prayers of saints are a valued commodity. John the apostle would agree. He wrote the story of Lazarus and was careful to show the sequence: The healing began when the request was made.
The phrase the friend of Lazarus used is worth noting. When he told Jesus of the illness, he said, “The one you love is sick.” The power of the prayer, in other words, does not depend on the one who makes the prayer but on20 the one who hears the prayer.
We can and must repeat the phrase in manifold ways. “The one you love is tired, sad, hungry, lonely, fearful, depressed.” The words of the prayer vary, but the response never changes. The Savior hears the prayer. He silences heaven so he won’t miss a word. The Master heard the request. Jesus stopped whatever he was doing and took note of the man’s words. This anonymous courier was heard by God.
John’s message is critical. You can talk to God because God listens. Your voice matters in heaven. He takes you very seriously. When you enter his presence, the attendants turn to you to hear your voice. No need to fear that you will be ignored. Even if you stammer or stumble, even if what you have to say impresses no one, it impresses God—and he listens.
Intently. Carefully. The prayers are honored as precious jewels. Purified and empowered, the words rise in a delightful fragrance to our Lord. “The smoke from the incense went up from the angel’s hand to God” (Rev. 8:4). Incredible. Your words do not stop until they reach the very throne of God.
One call and heaven’s fleet appears. Your prayer on earth activates God’s power in heaven.
You are the someone of God’s kingdom. Your prayers move God to change the world. You may not understand the mystery of prayer. You don’t need to. But this much is clear: Actions in heaven begin when someone prays on earth. What an amazing thought!
When you speak, Jesus hears.
And when Jesus hears, the world is changed.
All because someone prayed.

Dear KKIM Family,

May we come together in prayer for 6 year old Reneesha Box.

We have been praying for Reneesha and she was feeling better and she went to

school today.

Then the Doctor called her dad, Bobby Box, at work today with the news that the

blood test did not come back good. Reneesha is going to have an MRI of her

liver tomorrow.

Please pray for healing, please pray for the family as they go through this stressful

time.

As Henry Bosch said, "The perfect antidote for fear is trust in God."

If we ask anything according to HIS will, HE hears us. 1 John 5:14

Here are a couple of prayer Needs.........

The Director of The Storehouse food pantry here in Albuquerque, Lee Maynard told me today that they now feed 40,000 people...

Just think of it..........picture Lobo football stadium full of hungry people. The Storehouse feeds about 7 to 8 percent of

Albuquerque. Lee said that some food pantry's in the United States have closed because of the lack of support in their

communities. That is not the case here in the Duke City as the citizens have responded to the need of the Storehouse for

donations. In a scene never seen before at the Storehouse, a man showed up in a suit and tie because he lost his job

and had to get food for his family and then go on a job interview. Please keep the hungry in your prayers and the folks like Lee

who work at The Storehouse.

Last night on New Mexico News and Views Pastor Steve Smothermon talked about the efforts of all.........Evangelicals, Protestants, Catholics.......all coming together to defeat this bill. The Catholic Church leaders have a letter from the Pope denouncing this bill. Walls are coming down and brining God's people together, that is one blessing I see going on here!

I PRAISE GOD for you!

I am so thankful to have you with us today as we come together to pray for Torrance County Deputy Sheriff Dominique Smith, or as many called him, Dom. Dom was severely injured as he was investigating a crime scene Monday night on I-40. He was on the shoulder of the road and struck by a car going 60 miles an hour. Dom died at the University of New Mexico Hospital yesterday.

Dom leaves behind his wife, Heather and two children. We were contacted by the County yesterday to let you all know that a fund drive has been started for Deputy Dom's family.

Donations can be made to the Deputy Smith Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo bank in the state of New Mexico. All proceeds will go to his wife and children.

Thanks for the note and keeping me in your prayers. I'm slowly on the
mend, but learned Friday I've got to have another one or two screws
inserted in the ankle on Tuesday. They took another x-ray on Friday and
discovered that, after the swelling went down, there's too big of a gap
between the ball of the ankle and the outside bone. So, they've got to
insert another screw, maybe two, to close the gap. They inserted three
other screws earlier that will remain in the ankle. These one or two new
ones will be taken out later.
...Keep up the good work -- God's work!

Hello Dewey,

My Sister, Gina Heise , spent two weeks over Christmas and New Year’s in the hospital due to an infection she had from a minor surgery. While there, it was discovered she had blood clotting in her lungs and throughout her body. Not good at all. She apparently has a Lupus-type blood issue that will mean she must be on blood thinners for the rest of her life. She was finally allowed to go home to recover on Monday night. Last night, Tuesday, my Mother had to take her back to the hospital emergency room because she was experiencing severe pain in her lower extremities and the muscles in her body were twitching. They were both scared and my Sister was in extreme discomfort. Finally, this morning, they admitted her back to the hospital. Not that many things in life cause me to worry. But, this time is different and I am extremely concerned about my Sisters health and that of my Mother’s (still recovering from a heart attack a few months ago). My Mother has had very little rest over the last several weeks and it definitely shows. My Sister has two young children who are going nuts over not having their Mother home with them. They are very scared, as you can imagine. Can you please ask everyone to pray for my Sister and my Family that she (and my Mother’s) health improves quickly so that life can return to normal. Thanks for all the prayers!

Please Pray for a MiracleA friend of ours, Juan Navas-Sacasa, went to the doctor for a pain in hisleg. It turned out to be a blood clot. Tests found cancer...in hisliver, pancreas, and everywhere. The doctors started chemo, butquit...his body could not tolerate it. He is now very weak, and inhorrible pain, and the pain medication is also not working. They almostlost him Monday, but he is holding on.This is the kind of person who should live a long time! (In my humbleopinion. Forgive me God for being bossy.) He is 57 years old, fromSpain, brought up in Italy, smart, educated and well spoken, witty andfun, fluent in many languages, and so sweet! Married for many years toMarisol who is a dear lady and they have a wonderful son; He is a lovely man! They are Christians, and fine, fine people.Now he needs a MIRACLE. Dewey, Just got a call from Tony's wife and she's says the brain surgery today went very well, in fact, the Drs. said "it went better than we thought it would" He's didn't even have to go to recovery, he went straight to ICU, and is awake and talking. I am so thankful for all of you.........

Never say God has done what HE has not done because it sounds better to say it; never pretend to have an answer when you have not. Jesus said, "Everyone who asks receives"; we say ----"I have asked but I have not received." It is because we ask in spiritual confusion. Jesus said to James and John: "You do not know what you ask"; they were brought into fellowship with Jesus Christ's cup and baptism, but not in the way they expected.

My 28 yr old neighbor is having brain surgery on Wednesday morning. He is a new believer, I led him to the Lord earlier this year, after two very close friends of his committed suicide a couple of months apart. The brain surgery is needed to fix a problem from an earlier surgery he needed a few years ago after he was hit in the head with a brick during a fight in which he was trying to rescue a young woman who was being attacked my another man. The amazing thing is, God has been watching over him long before he even knew of Jesus. He never attended church as a child. He grew up in Albq, raised by a single Mom, and they were homeless when he was in 1st and 2nd grades. He even remembers doing his home work in their car in a parking lot by the street lights. Even with his head injury, he is not disabled, has never ask for government assistance, he has a sound and bright mind, has obtained his realtor's license and a brokers license. He has his own business. He has a wonderful attitude, loves the Lord, and loves life and has a sweet wife. Please pray that the surgery goes well and he recovers quickly. He is my dear close friend.

Dear KKIM Family,

We have been praying for Lynne Buggs as she goes through cancer treatment. I just got a note from her brother Tim Gannon that she is back in the hospital and that the Doctor's think the cancer has moved to her brain.

Would you please continue to pray for healing for Lynne.

It has been such a blessing to get to know her through emails, she has a wonderful heart for the Lord and HIS people.

Never complaining.

I would like to share with Lynne and her family and with you all about why prayer is so important for all of us.............

Your prayers mean so much!!!

First this from Oswald Chambers........ The time a Christian gives to prayer and communion with God is not meant for his natural life, but to nourish the life of the Son of God in him. God engineers the circumstances of His saints in order that the Spirit may use them as the praying house of the Son of God. If you are spiritual the Holy Spirit is offering up prayers in your bodily temple that you know nothing about, it is the Spirit making intercession in you. Also this......... We are to free from the wonder nowadays, too easy with the Word of God; we do not use it with the breathless amazement Paul does.

Think what sanctification means------Christ in me; made like Christ; as HE is, so are we. I think sometimes we get going like a gerbils in a cage and we need to stop and smell the roses as that old Mac Davis song says, and soak in the amazement of GOD!

Hi Dewey, Gwen here again. After asking for prayer to move up my appt., I called yesterday and was able to move it closer by 3 weeks, and I called again today, and it was moved up another week. That's a definite Praise the Lord. Many thanks to all who have been praying for me, especially since we don't have a church family right now. Keep praying for me that this will be resolved. God bless, Gwen Dewey, What a miracle! Just to share what God does...remember Tim, who was in an induced coma due to brain swelling after a horrific motorcycle accident! Well, praise God and thank HIM dearly as you read this: "Another outstanding day for Tim, they removed his trach and they gave him his helmet. Tim works with his therapist daily, this afternoon when I arrived they put him in the wheel chair and rolled him down to the gym. Tim stood up out of his chair and walked about 10 feet, sat down to rest a minute then stood up and walked back. It was amazing I cried with joy! He did most of it by himself with little support. Way to go Tim soon you will be walking to the gym! ~ Love ya!!!" IT'S A MIRACLE! Love, Karen

Hi Dewey,
This is Gwen, dealing with the bladder/urinary problem. I had asked the Lord to show me and the doctors the problem and to fix it. Blood tests came back with hyperparathyroidism. It could be the problem....I'm praying it is, so I can get it fixed. Called the surgeon, but the soonest he can see me is Jan. 13th. They said I could call back everyday to see if there's been a cancellation. Please pray I'll be able to get in sooner and that this will resolve the problem. I need to get this resolved, quit suffering and get on with life.

We have these prayer needs..........Please pray for my Father-In-Law Roger Altman who according to the Doctor's is now in the final stages of Alzheimer.

Please keep Roger, Sharon and her whole family in your prayers.

Please pray for Patty of Elk Grove, California......Her mother Joanne passed away Saturday and Patty has been diagnosed with cancer. Patty is Sharon's good friend from her High School days.

A Couple of notes on prayer.........Prayer is hunger for God, and having a genuine hunger for God, and having a genuine hunger for God is the beginning of prayer. Our genuine desire to know God us an actual prayer, and genuine prayer makes us hungry for God. Genuine Prayer is GOD-hunger!!! AMEN!!!

By the way when you have to wait in line or our sitting to be seen at an office...........flip out your cell phone and go to your directory and pray for each person on your cell phone directory.If your like me, I still don't have all the names in the cell phone I still use the old fashion address/phone book I carry with me every where.

Dewey, you seem interested in people pretending to be Christians this morning. I have some relief. The ones that are pretending cannot be around true believers for any long length of time. Its just impossible. Their conscience won't let them. The scriptures say there are wolves in sheeps clothing, and thats so true. But are those wolves around true believers? I think not. The believers see through them, and if the wolves were around true believers for some time, they would have to leave or repent. I'd like to be put on your prayer list.
Ever since trying hormones for a couple months this summer, I've had a weird urinary/bladder problem going on. None of my doctors know what it is or what to do about it. I've been unable to carry on a lot of things in my life and have been staying home. I so much want to get out there and work for the Lord, especially doing something with a food ministry. We've also wanted to start attending our local church, but have been unable to. We've been away from church for many years, and it's now my hearts desire to be able to go and get involved. Please pray that this will get resolved, either through God's miracle, or that me and the doctors will find out what the problem is and be able to fix it.

Tim Gunn is showing improvements today. Thank you for keeping him in your prayers. I know that God is watching over him and it is amazing how many people believe in God and miracles.

Dewey, please keep Tim Gunn and the family in your prayers. God does miracles. I sense the family broken, as response was hoped for Thursday and now they are looking into next week. I know God is with them. The power in prayer is still a mystery to me...Jesus healed by faith, but teaches us to pray for one another. To unite as one in Christ and to witness the glory of God.

God is good and HIS WIlLL be done and HE promises us...and teaches us to pray like this for good things and they will be done. My faith believes that with all my heart.

My human nature may want to fix, but my Spirit is greater and my hope is in Jesus. My belief is higher than any limitation known to man and my compassion is from the love of God, so I ask us to unite and pray for this family for complete healing and for comfort, divine comfort and peace for the family right now.

Here is Tim's story with updates:

Tim was critically injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday evening when he hit a deer and was thrown off the bike. Tim was on his way home and was only about a mile away. He sustained head injuries and a few broken ribs and was life flighted to UNC hospitals where he is currently in the Neurological ICU. Here his family and friends hold vigil in the waiting area, praying together, that he will have a speedy recovery. Please pray for Tim and his family as they will travel a long road. Not much change today ICP remains in the teens. His motor skills are slowly responding. He has been givin an antibiotic to help prevent bacteria to build up on his lungs. It will be a few days before we see a natural response. The nurses have allowed him to listen to music for stimulation. Keep praying next week GUNN will be showing us how strong he really is!!!
UPDATE TODAY:
As of this morning Tims ICP is at or below 10. He is slowly reacting to the tube in his throat and is coughing more. He is responding to pain and they have restrained his right hand so he does not pull out his tubes. They have removed the tube from his head and are now monitoring his brain pressure with medication. Tim is still frighting, keep praying for Tim.

Pastor Don Kimbro of Heights Christian Church and host of Nuggets of Truth on KKIM has been admitted to the hospital. I talked to Don a couple times yesterday and he is resting comfortably. Please keep him in your prayers. Please also cover his dear wife Dorothy in your prayers.

I will be speaking at Heights tomorrow, please keep me in your prayers.that the Lord continues to guide my messages and words.

Please keep Charlie Hickman in your prayers, Doctors have found a spot on one of Charlie's lungs and this 6 foot Four Giant of a man is down to 118 pounds. Charlie is a wonderful man of God and has helped many through the years. Please pray for him and his wife LaVella. These two people have been wonderful servants of the Lord!

Also a special welcome to Tan Tian of Malaysia! Tan and I lived in the same boarding house while attending school in Mpls, Minn in the late 70's.

I had looked for Tan for many years and he found me Wed. by searching the web from Malaysia. Last night Tan called me and we had a wonderful talk! (15 hours difference in time)It was like we picked up where we left some 30 years ago. I took Tan down to Windom, Minn (my hometown) a couple of times, he met my whole family and remembers them very well. He was sad to hear that my Mon and Dad had passed on. Tan is an engineer. We will be hearing more from him as the days go on!

Urgent Prayer Need

Dr. Deb Gunderman wrote this to me this morning................

Hi, Dewey,

I have a family emergency and need to fly to Phoenix this morning to be with my dad. He was admitted to the hospital last night. He had fallen and hit his head. He also has a fever and his blood pressure dropped suddenly. Since I am the closest to Phoenix and can get there quickly, I need to fly out today. We do not want him alone now and my sister can't get there until Sunday.

Please keep Dr. Deb's Dad, Marlin in your prayers. Also please pray for Dr. Deb and her family for safe travel to see their loved one.

By the way, Dr. Deb hosts Walking in the Way on KKIM Saturday mornings at 8:05. Thanks to Sandy Harrington of KKIM who will be filling in for Deb this Saturday. I am thankful for the heart for service Sandy has.

I talked to Barbara Tafoya yesterday after her husband Pastor Vic came out of surgery. The operation went very well to remove the tumor in Vic's arm. Now we have to wait for a week or so to see if it is cancerous. Please keep pastor Vic and family in your prayers. Pastor Vic of True Life Fellowship is heard Sundays at 8am on KKIM.

Dewey I am writing this for prayers for myself. Now that winter is setting in, my pain has become alive and well. I have pain that I had forgotten I had during the summer months. I have seen so many, much needed prayer requests that I feel little compared. But my pain runs my life in the winter months. Of course there are the two hours after I take my medications (4 times a day) that I feel less pain. And I am very thankful for those hours. I just wish it would last longer.

Hi Dewey,
I just wanted to say thank you again for all that you do. I just received news from my doctor's office that the mass in my liver has decreased to half the size it was.
The chemo is working for me. I have been off the oxygen for 8 weeks. My lungs are stable. I know it is through prayer and my medical team that my health is improving.

I sincerely appreciate your work and thank you for reminding me the importance of praying for others and that we all have obstacles. It's through God that we can overcome them.
